Remove an element at a particular index from the array list

In the previous post, we have seen how to remove a specified element from  the arraylist. In this post, we will see how to remove an element  at a particular index from the array list.

We use the remove() method to remove the element.

Syntax:

public remove(int index);

index: the position where element needs to be removed.

Example:

import java.util.ArrayList;

public class ArrayListEx {

	public static void main(String[] args) {
		ArrayList<String> fruits = new ArrayList<String>();
		fruits.add("Apple");
		fruits.add("Orange");
		fruits.add("Mango");
		fruits.add("Grapes");

		System.out.println("Fruits list : "+fruits);
		fruits.remove(1);  //orange will be removed

		System.out.println("Fruits after removing specified element : "+fruits);
	}
}

Output:

Fruits list : [Apple, Orange, Mango, Grapes] Fruits after removing specified element : [Apple, Mango, Grapes]
